This gem set was not assembled correctly. The bevel that should be on the front edge of the stones' working surface is on the side instead, rendering them unusable without significant work. I have three more pairs of stones from Lisle that are true. The stones themselves were glued into their mounts upside down and 180 degrees in the wrong position. This cannot be fixed as the stones are brittle and any attempt to remove them to position them correctly will break the wearer. I suspect there are others somewhere in the suppliers' warehouses that are also incorrectly fitted. Modern Manufacturing is great for making lots of items quickly, even if it's not done right.
