So in a week I used almost the entire 250ml bottle on a 10 gallon tank. The aquarium is a quarantine aquarium for a newly arrived fish barely an inch tall. I'm getting ammonia readings between 0.25 and 0.5 on the API kit, zero for nitrite and zero for nitrate. I took a water sample from my aged main tank for comparison and can see what zero actually looks like and ammonia still shows positive even after a massive overdose of the stuff. The bottle even says don't overdose. The fish are still alive, but they are annoyed by the daily 50% water change and the quite expensive consumption of salt. I want this thing to work. I keep a decent amount of substrate in my tank with a few small bits of live rock from my tank to seed the beneficial bacteria. I also have decent filtering for what it is. If anyone has any suggestions we would be grateful. I can try a competitor's product to see if it works much better. Also got an insane algal bloom like no other from God knows what's in that thing.
