Review on Signature Design by Ashley Nestor Hand-Finished Round End Table: Traditional Style with Dark Brown Finish and Fixed Shelf by Johanna Romero

Revainrating 1 out of 5

4 separate items. All 4 are damaged.

The good first. I bought two of the three tier side tables. I managed to get them for a little over $80 each (if you can wait, prices fluctuate). I chose the tables based on a scroll design that I wanted to combine with other curved furniture in my living room. I also wanted a taller side table. On average it's about 24 inches, that's 26 inches. My sofa has higher armrests, so the height of the table was important in order not to be uncomfortable. These work great. They look very elegant, the colors are beautiful and the finishes are clean. They are quite heavy and have adjustable legs. Now for the bad. Like other reviewers, mine was damaged. They were all delivered on different days and packaged differently and both were damaged. I assume they are indeed rejected by Ashley. The first table had a damaged box, but not enough to be a concern. The styrofoam was broken inside which made a mess. Only one tabletop was wrapped in a package, with nothing around the other. The top had a fairly large notch on the side, about 3 inches long. After looking at what was left of the packaging material, we decided it wouldn't be conspicuous enough to repackage. We put it in an unused corner. The second table was packed in an additional box to Ashley's box. Everything was boxed and looked fresh from the factory. The top platform had scratches on the trim around the edge that matched the placement of the legs, so they were hidden (although maybe a return and repackaged after someone picked them up?) The bottom platform is shaped like a weird ring, it metal transfer may be present. I tried wiping them off, then I tried scraping all 3 screws into the middle platform since the last hole didn't line up. You might bend your leg, but I didn't want to try. It had little screw-on outriggers in the middle that you can also attach a leg to, so I left that screw out. The assembly was about as you would expect. although we found that we fastened the bottom first and then the top, alternately slowly tightening the screws. I think if you attach a leg and tighten everything it will cause serious alignment issues. That way we had a little more wiggle room to push and pull until everything lined up properly. The adjustable feet of both sets had 1 uneven foot. I shortened them all and placed them at the back, adjusting only the straight legs. I assume it's all kind of Ashley's marriages. 2 stars based on appearance and size requirements. If I had bought them locally I would return them immediately. The pain of sending her back outweighed the damage. I'm grateful we bought them at a lower price otherwise I would have humbled myself and repackaged them. I'm waiting for the delivery of the coffee table and I'm not holding my breath at the moment. I will carefully unpack and check everything. Currently 0/2 in quality. I think waiting for Ashley's sale and shipping direct from them would be the best option. While I can live with damaged tables I wouldn't recommend it to others. I have included as many photos as possible. Good photos how they look good and then damage and problems. *** EDIT UPDATE *** The coffee table has arrived. Everything looks good at first. The second platform had a large pothole and looked like it had been filled with white putty (last two photos). The damage was right in front of you, so you can't hide it. I am annoyed. Luckily I unpacked it carefully and now it's packed again and waiting for UPS. I'm glad I used Prime. They pick it up and send a replacement free of charge. And again without holding your breath. If the next one is bad I will apply for a refund and box up two side tables for a refund. Change the rating to 1 star until a replacement arrives. **Edit update* 3/6/18 ** Sofa replacement table arrived today. No wonder it's damaged. The box was hit but not consistently with damage on not one platform but two (see last 3 photos). I am beyond annoyed by the crappy junk this seller is claiming to be "Ashley factory quality". I am sending back a replacement and also packing the two side tables. We're working hard for our money and I'm done. I will not be taken as an idiot, don't waste your money on this seller. They hit 0/4 on my order. I mean seriously, what are the odds if everything you sell isn't defective.
