Review on πŸ“Έ Compact Portable Wand Scanner: VuPoint PDS-ST470PU-VP by Ramon Hood

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I use VuPoint for genealogy

It's very light and scans great photos. I consider it plug and play. I bought a separate 8GB microSD card and couldn't fill it halfway. I took it overseas to scan family photos and relatives' documents. This is especially helpful since most people don't like letting you enjoy those moments. I was lucky enough to buy this from the seller as "used" as it was a return. It had all the documentation, cables and packaging and a lower price. For a long time I could not understand that you can enlarge the photo (in fact, I found out by accident). It creates PDF or JPG in Hi, Med, Lo resolutions. That's all, what you need to select. I traveled 10 days with 3 days of heavy use. I considered using a cell phone charger as it uses a micro USB port to charge, but I never charged it. I just charged it before I left. I made myself a blue zippered pre-quilted cover for about $3 as opposed to the cover sold.

Pros
  • Document scanner
Cons
  • Expensive
