Review on ๐ŸŽค Reduced Noise Rode SM4-R Suspension Microphone Shock Mount for 3/8" or 5/8" Thread Mounts by John Milligan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Might fit smaller rigs but my RODE NTG-2 was too heavy

brings it back because it causes excessive driving noise on my rig. I don't know if my mic is too heavy for this mount (RODE NTG-2 boom mic /w dead cat) and that's why there is noise, but it happens with the slightest left-to-right rotation, causing the boom movement between actors without sound interference is almost impossible. I've tried to find the cheapest and best quality option, but this isn't the mount for me. I gave three stars because for a very light mic setup this could potentially be a very strong and agile shock absorber, but I just can't explain it because I don't have a smaller mic to test with.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • The frequency
