Excellent microphone isolation

For a used product they look and work like new. All parts seem to work and snap into place like the new one I recently bought. The packaging wasn't bad. The plastic holders of the original packaging are missing, but otherwise everything you need is there. For a $20 savings, this is a really good deal.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Some issues

Perfect shock mount for Rode NTG-4+

This is for Rode SM4-R with red modular lyres. It holds the Rode NTG-4+ shotgun securely and the mic doesn't get heavy up front or snap out of tune. So far it works as intended right out of the box. If this changes as I use it more I will definitely update this review.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great shock mount for Beyerdynamics M201 TG

I used the stock shock mount which wasn't as good as it should be. It's pretty impressive and does a great job of reducing the "shocks" reaching my mic. Combine this with the "TH-MD-150-70 MECHANICAL MICROPHONE DISCONNECTOR" and you have an extremely efficient duo that largely eliminates all vibration. Great product but I think it's a bit expensive. It could be cheaper.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Good shock but not as versatile as I was hoping.

Like many others, I was also wondering if this SM4-R could be disassembled and converted into an SM3-R with a simple male cold shoe screwed in. Unfortunately, this is not possible (see pictures). ) - If you don't have a 3/8 male cold shoe adapter, you can screw it into the 3/8 female mic stand mount that comes with this SM4-R; or somehow construct a weird M5 screw for a cold shoe adapter that screws into one of five threaded brass inserts. Despite this (deliberate) design flaw, it's still aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Weight

Might fit smaller rigs but my RODE NTG-2 was too heavy

brings it back because it causes excessive driving noise on my rig. I don't know if my mic is too heavy for this mount (RODE NTG-2 boom mic /w dead cat) and that's why there is noise, but it happens with the slightest left-to-right rotation, causing the boom movement between actors without sound interference is almost impossible. I've tried to find the cheapest and best quality option, but this isn't the mount for me. I gave three stars because for a very light mic setup this could potentiallyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • The frequency
