These lights are more than impressive. I've been using 8ft heavy duty lamps in my buildings for almost 20 years and the electric bills have been amazing. I've gone with LEDs and removed the energy-intensive ballast that heats up, and this is where you can put all your might. These bulbs are unballasted and fit my old retro style fixtures and produce no heat. In my opinion it's a win-win situation and having reduced my electric bill in just a month I couldn't be happier. We turn on the light in the building 8 hours a day. I don't have to end this without telling you that the light is far superior to standard lighting. If you've been to a big store and seen these contraptions, I'm telling you that now all my buildings will look like this. The light makes working more pleasant. I also have 4 foot lamps from this company that will work in the laundry room and in my basement. Let's talk installation: if you are not an electrician but know how to use tools you can do it, but an electrician is desirable. What you do is cut the wires on each side of the ballast. Then connect one side to the AC cord you already have and the other side to the other cord from your AC outlet. That's all. You can remove or leave the ballast, I removed mine. I had a few questions before installing and found the answers on You Tube. This company had the best reputation at Revain and I trust Revain. I couldn't be happier. I packaged my flashlights in a sturdy cardboard tube and each flashlight has a protective strip on the lens to protect it. After installation I had a slight sag in the center but the headlights worked 100%, I decided to add a center hook from this company anyway to support the light. The brackets were easy to install with a self tapping screw, took 10 minutes per bracket and I think it was worth it.
