Review on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Earth Science Kit by Timothy Richmond

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Some really great experiments and activities! The instructions could use some work.

Every week we conduct different science experiments and buy National Geographic and other brands. National Geographic sets like this are very nicely packaged in a lovely box with a lovely booklet with instructions and information on each activity. My only disappointment was that the instructions aren't as clear as some other brands I've used. For example, the components are not listed on the page with photos showing what each item is. So for an experiment it could say "something or something" and not show pictures of the item so you don't know what it needs. I had to google videos to see what components are needed for an experiment because I didn't know what kind of "bells and whistles" I needed. Otherwise it's great. The volcano was LOTS of fun making and I appreciate that it comes with instructions for ingredients to use around the house. So we did that with the ingredients included and then a few more times with the ingredients we had at home. Excavating rocks was a lot of fun. For people who think they didn't get everyone a rock, they did. It's just that the gold bar contains fool's gold and the "gem" contains another gem. Again, the instructions won't let you know. At first we only made a gold bar and I was very sad that we didn't get a gem. Then the next week we "unearthed" a little crystal shaped thing and it had a gem in it!
