Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Efficient Brake Free Bleed Screw Remover: Phoenix Systems 4001-B Unleashes Ease and Precision by Julio Fernandez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works and it works very well.

Starting work on a new project. I know the brakes have not been serviced in at least 7 years which is a long time in the damp, wet and salty environment where I live. All 4 fittings were covered with rust and no longer stuck. I soaked them in spray and tapped them lightly with a mallet twice a day for a week. One of the Bloodletters eventually emerged, but the other 3 remained frozen. That's when I started looking for other options and discovered Break Free. Boy did it work. I replaced all three fittings in less than 5 minutes. I couldn't tell from the videos I watched how much torque it would take to pry them out, but I can tell you it was minimal. I never felt even close to bleeding. I just wiggled the wrench back and forth a few times and it snapped off smooth as silk. This product has the exact name. Worth every penny. I bet this also works with frozen exhaust manifold bolts. My only complaint is that I wish they had made a shorter version. I had to get really creative attaching my long pneumatic hammer to the narrow edges of the wheel arch using Break Free and a deep hole socket. You'll do well if you have a short-barreled air hammer. Manufacturer's Note: Consider making a version without the air hammer retaining spring neck. All you need is an anvil, a 3/4" hex wrench and a 3/8" drive. Proper use of the tool will render the retaining spring obsolete and will only serve to limit the usefulness of the tool. After all, if you can't level it in a tight space, it's useless.

Pros
  • Prevents replacement of good parts due to rusty bleeder screws
Cons
  • Low repairability
