I bought this brochure in 2016. Patterns require worsted yarn. You may need to create a template or square and use it for all other squares, or just use squares with the same stroke. I had to change needles 3 times. I use US 5, US 7 and US 8. Some squares are 80 sts and some squares are 51 sts. Row width is more important than stitch width for most squares. When I first tried to make a blanket I didn't take into account the number of stitches cast on and the fact that some squares are very stretchy so some of my squares ended up being wider than others. Since I started my squares have gotten a lot better.
