This is my rig: 55 gallon tank, Rena 400 air pump, Lok Tite 5 air control valve, 4 vertical tube bottom filters. My air pump has two outlets and both are connected to an air control valve. The 4 air control valve outlets direct vents underground and a 5th outlet controls that 12 inch vent. It does exactly what I wanted. the back of my aquarium. I don't bury it in the gravel because it's already obscured by rocks and driftwood and is heavy enough to stay on the ground. There is a really good surface flow between this vent and the vents in the gravel pack. The water circulates back to front along the surface and down the front of the aquarium. My zebrafish love to swim against the current. I originally had this stone as one of two air stones from the same airline. - Do not do that. You will be disappointed with the bubbles from both stones. If you have more than one stone, make sure you have an air pump that can handle it and an air regulator with multiple valves so you can control the amount of air through the stone.
