Bright Incandescent Bulbs

I have installed 8 intermediate socket lights as work lights on kitchen countertops. There is also a microwave with its own light. The table lamps originally had 40w incandescent bulbs which I connected to a dimmable wall switch. 8 times 40 results in a total power consumption of 320 watts, which is quite remarkable. My first LED replacement used about 4 watts and was bright enough and dimmed really well with no flickering. At the time, these were the only inter-base lamps I could find that would fit my tube lights. Then I saw these 7 watt bulbs were on sale and decided to give them a try. I bought a set of 2 bulbs and when I installed them I was completely blown away by the difference in brightness which makes sense as they use almost twice the power but are still a huge improvement over the original 40 watt incandescent bulbs. And with the additional advantage of a light output that is almost twice as high as that of all previous lamps. With that in mind I've bought 4 more and placed them in places that will provide the most utility in our kitchen. Also, I only put one in the microwave and now this light actually works as a work light. I felt the two bulbs were redundant at this point, so I left the old 4W LED in second place. However, it should be noted that the night light function on the oven will not work due to flickering, which is normal as the rest of the array is perfectly dimmed via the wall switch. And here's another nice perk; Sometimes I'm working in the kitchen and I find that the light is partially dimmed and there is a way to keep it on. I've never been a "victim" of too much light. Also, I had 4 watt bulbs for a couple of years, I had several breakdowns. In the 3 or 4 months that I've been using these 7 watt bulbs I haven't had a single failure and the build quality seems to be a bit better although the price difference is quite large. Notes on images. The first kitchen counter shows a 4 watt lamp above the toaster, 7 watt in the middle and 7 and 4 watts above the microwave/cooker hood. The second photo shows the reflection of the lamps from the hood on the surface of the stove. Pretty dramatic, don't you think?
