A set of two radio stations was purchased for solving two classes of tasks - communication at sea (within the ship + backup) and negotiations on the set. From these considerations, a dual-band VHF + UHF was chosen. The bundled headset is not very comfortable and not loud enough, but copes with moderate noise on land. The PMR range allows you to work almost without violating the law - the power is slightly higher than the standard, but not critical. LPD is practically useless due to the large excess of power. FRS - America, not yet used. At sea, the device proved to be excellent. The station, installed next to the helm on a sailing yacht, is perfectly audible even when driving on a diesel engine. One radio stood for several hours in a puddle of sea water, the external contacts of the battery oxidized (no wonder: electrolysis), but continues to work properly. Salt spray, sometimes in a decent amount, nothing at all. It is very convenient to listen to two channels at once - VHF16 and the internal one assigned for communication over the flotilla. On shore it is easy to switch to PMR. In general, a very good device, the price more than justifies the shortcomings. For frequent and intensive use, it seems to make sense to purchase more expensive equipment, but these radios do an excellent job with my tasks.
