I have several vintage WW2 marine clocks that have engraved letters and numbers filled in white with a black dial finish. The black suffers from all the abuse from years of setting the time and keys slipping out of the movement leaving scratches on the black part of the dial. Also, some of these 70+ year old watches have paint issues associated with fading and water stains. I needed a way to cover the black so the ink doesn't get into the engraved white areas. I used a hard rubber roller and this ink to apply several passes to the dials, to give them a permanently new surface finish. and it worked great. The ink dried in a day or two. What looked very bad on the dial now looks great.
