Beautiful lace, clear stitch definition

Stunning stitch definition. If I want to show beginners how to recognize the different parts of a stitch, I'll show them this. This is great for creating openwork projects. Depending on your needs, you may need one of Aunt Lydia's finer crochet yarns. In comparison, #10 is significantly thicker than sewing thread but much thinner than sports thread. She's so damn flexible. Once locked, my Aunt Lydia's crochet projects are 60-80% larger than before unlocking. (Cotton is easy to block without stretching too much if you don't want to, but the yarn itself is quite stretchy, so the weight of your piece may cause the fabric to grow at least a little more than intended.) If You've never worked with this weight of yarn before, FYI this requires fairly small hooks and it's good to have excellent eyesight. On the other hand, each stitch is so clear that it is very easy to count them or spot mistakes. I love the natural color scheme with a slight yellow tinge that makes it look like your lace was made by your grandmother decades ago. Ironically, the Antique White color scheme leans more towards white, which is less reminiscent of heirlooms. The nice thing is that one skein of these is enough to make multiple scarves!

Pros
  • Bedspread weight, 3 games
Cons
  • Out of fashion
