Works well for a 9 month old beagle

Our 9 month old Beagle does not like being picked up. Up to this point it was impossible to cut nails. We tried everything to make her less sensitive to someone touching her legs, but she fought like crazy to get away, even to the point where she could hurt herself. otherwise we didn't like it. So I took a chance in this hammock, and while it wasn't a pleasant experience for either the pup or us, we got the job done. Even pulling her into the hammock was a chore, but once she was in and hanging there, she eventually stopped struggling. However, it took two of us to calm her down, one holding her head and the other trimming her nails, but the job was done and she was perfectly fine when it was over - as if nothing had happened. The hammock is made of a very soft yet durable material with large holes for the dog's paws, making them easy to reach even if they resist a bit. As soon as you pick them up, they hold them very comfortably and firmly. The included hooks are strong metal so holding their 20lb weight was no problem and I'm sure they can handle a lot more. It also comes with a nice zippered storage bag to store your hammock and clips between cuts. This should also take a long time. I suspect that over time she will get used to it and it will just be a different matter. However, I see no need to do this without a hammock, even if the dog isn't fighting. This makes the cutting process much easier and safer for you and the person cutting. I can recommend this nail clipper hammock whether your dog likes it or not.

Pros
  • Unique design: With four small round holes and two S-shaped hooks, it can be easily hung on the hanging rod in any position. Also with four large round holes, easy to hang on the hammock for clipping and nail trimming.
Cons
  • No Instructions
