Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Enhanced SEO: OM Digital Solutions VN-3600 Digital Voice Recorder by Charlie Clayton

A few disappointing flaws

Yes it's a good and small recorder and by far the best recording time for its price. But the Olympus VN-3600 digital voice recorder has a few annoying downsides. First, forget about using a low-quality recording. The voices can hardly be distinguished. You can still get 2.5 hours of decent, average-quality audio. This should be sufficient for most users. What really drives me nuts are the common buttons to skip to the next file and fast forward. If you hold down the button, you're probably fast-forwarding, skipping a button press. However, since both play/pause, next track, previous track and stop are all on the jog dial button, you can accidentally hit the stop button when you want to fast forward or fast forward when you want to stop. Why is it frustrating? Imagine you have recorded an hour-long interview and are listening to it. If you accidentally press next track or stop, the current recording point will skip to or stop the next track. You need to fast forward where you are. And because FF is really that fast, it takes a lot of time. Separate fast-forward and rewind buttons would solve this problem, although there's no room for them on the device (because it's so nice and small). This might not be an issue if you have a pinky, although I don't think mine is too big. If I had known about this issue beforehand, I would definitely have chosen a different brand/model!
