Fairly easy to install. Simply adjust the screws below in small increments so one part of the mount doesn't pull over the other. The protective components are made of hard plastic, so no metal on metal. My son's tire size is 27.5 and it's a GT bike. Fits well with many adjustments in between. I also used #42 medium strength threadlocker. You can apply more force if you wish, as the vibration will loosen these bolts if you don't, inevitably resulting in scratches on the bike frame. Light weight and I know a footrest that only attaches to a rail looks a little more discreet but it's a good idea as it stays in place longer as the weight can be distributed a little better. With a bracket on the rail, it can be released in no time at all. It's hard to rate it for durability as we just bought it but will be updating it over the summer.
