Well I thought if I invested in this more expensive thermometer I would at least get a reliable thermometer (mainly for checking the temperature of meat). But this thermometer has been sitting in my kitchen drawer for almost 2 years next to the old fashioned one I replaced because the old one was 10 degrees above normal. Over the years, I've always pulled out my shiny new digital meter, only to see its readings jumping all over the place, and then pulled out my trusty old-fashioned thermometer and just added 10 degrees. I read so many good reviews that I was sure it must be just me, but after reading the latest reviews I see I'm not alone. Others complain about the same problem. $25 is a solid amount and my only regret is that I didn't try to complain to the manufacturer sooner. Now I am complaining to warranty support and will write here with the results.
