Bright light - Low heat - Longer life - More expensive than incandescent

Like some other reviewers, I bought these LED replacement bulbs for reading lights in my recreational car. My coach is a 2011 Itasca Class A motorhome from Winnebago. This year, the motorhome manufacturer had not installed any LED lighting in these models. I have already replaced 921 bulbs with LEDs in all my other lights. The result for me was better lighting with a lot less power and heat. My reading lights were the last to have the LEDs replaced, mainly because my 13-watt 1383 bulbs hadn't burned out yet and those 1.8-watt LED replacements were significantly more expensive. While I prefer the warmer light that usually comes from incandescent bulbs, let's assume the whiter light from these bulbs is acceptable. Using a Gossen Luna Pro light meter, I measured 260 foot candles of light from these LED bulbs, compared to 130 foot candles from the 1,383 incandescent bulbs Winnebago installed on my bus. These bulbs protrude slightly further from the socket than the original bulbs. You can see the comparison in the photos I've attached. So, these replacement LED lights offer more light with much less current, resulting in much less heat and the promise of a much longer lifespan. The stated 100,000 hour lifespan for these bulbs should work 24/7 for over 11 years, but these bulbs are only guaranteed for one year. If I have any early setbacks I will come back and report it in this review.
