I have provided a picture of the Inslive hpa 100 pre-filter on the left and the Honeywell hpa 100 pre-filter on the right. As you can see the Inslive filter is much less dense (because it lets a lot more light through) which apparently allows more particles and dust to get through the filter, into the fan and into the air. I have no way of testing the difference in air quality, but I suspect the thicker the filter, the less gets through. I don't smell any weird or plastic smells in the air like some people say. I don't hear any difference in the noise either, at least it sounds a bit quieter than the Honeywell filter. In general, Honeywell pre-filters are a bit more expensive, so I'll come back to that after this batch. I can't say anything about the sub-filter itself, because my old Honeywell filter was very well protected by my old pre-filter and I haven't changed it despite being over a year old.
