I read some reviews, watched the video a few times and read the instructions and to be honest it wasn't difficult to install. If you've ever installed a radio in your car, you have the skills to do it. I hope this gives you a reasonable comparison of the skills required to install this remote starter. Took me about 45 minutes to physically install the device. It took me another 15 minutes to program it because I messed up the programming. Don't make the same mistake I did. Step 8 in the installation guide says WAIT for the yellow LED to flash. This can take MINUTES. I think it took maybe 2-3 minutes. SUFFER! In my case, I couldn't wait long enough. I simply reset the device to factory settings according to the user manual and flashed it again and the second time everything worked. Yes, you can probably install this without removing the lower dash cover, but the lower dash is incredibly easy to remove. on the verge of 2017. I can't help but think it'll be the same for a few model years before and after. It took me 3-5 minutes to remove the lower dash cover which made things a lot easier. Removing the panel also reveals the left and right horizontal brackets, which you can use to tie the unit together and keep the cables securely in place (see images). The cover is attached with two screws which are easy to find and remove (see pictures). A screw in the upper left corner is hidden behind an overlay (see photo). Begin by pulling back on the top of the rider panel (the panel on the left foot in the driver's position) just enough to release the top of the panel from the door seal. Pull the lower end of the panel/pad outward to release the retaining clips and expose the screw that secures the upper left corner of the lower instrument panel. Remove the screw in the lower right corner of the panel next to the center console (see image). Now the plate is only held in place by plastic tabs built into the plate, which are pressed into rectangular holes in the metal frame. These tabs are held in place by friction. Simply pull the panel straight towards the seat to release. Press and pull out on the clips holding the switches on this cover, except for the right one. I simply unplugged and removed the entire panel. Seriously, I would. This greatly simplifies access and allows you to see what the heck you're doing! The connectors on the BCM (whatever that means) are pretty hard to reach and there are two clips on each end of the connectors. For the reverse (vertical) I had to pull the spark plug back off so I could see what I was doing and use my right hand to press down on the connector's lower clip with a flathead screwdriver while I pressed the upper clip with the index finger of my left Hand. It took a while but I finally turned it off. This is by far the most difficult connection. The other (horizontal) was difficult but doable, depressing and removing the staples with the index finger and thumb of the left hand. Luckily I'm left-handed! Good luck Righty's. A NOTICE. The vertical black connector, which is the hardest to pull out, has 2 rows of pins. A row of wide pins and a row of narrow ones. Just remember where they are (orientation) when the connector is unplugged so that the tee/connector you install into the BCM from the kit can be connected in the correct orientation. Whatever you do, DO NOT force that connector into the connector. take your time! It should insert easily once properly aligned. A NOTICE. Discovered by chance: Beep when activated remotely. To mute the sound when the remote starter activates, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote control for about 3 seconds. The marker lights flash and the horn stops. Repeat this process to turn the beep back on. The beep will sound to indicate it is now back on. Someone might come in handy. Overall GREAT PRODUCT!
