Bought this device to control the pump in my backyard pool. The outlet is GFCI and is located under the 18 inch roof overhang. Apparently, "outside" no longer means she'll survive outdoors. Setup was easy and the app and Alexa integration was intuitive and worked well. Unfortunately, a few weeks after installation, the GFCI socket started cracking. First it happened in the afternoon when there was a nice summer rain. After that, the ignition frequency of the FI circuit breaker increased rapidly until it could no longer be reset - short circuit - crackling right away. I removed the HBN Smart Switch, reset the GFCI and plugged the pool pump straight into the outlet - problem gone! Sorry, but this product advertised as "outdoor" is required by law to withstand normal outdoor weather conditions and does not require additional weatherproof covers. Cheap, dishonest Chinese crap.
