Nice Radio

Very good radio. I've been using it for a few months now and it works very well according to my personal preferences (= what I expected). The leadership is a little hurt in . but a little imagination helps to get around that. The easiest way is to hook it up to a powered desk/kitchen table, a dummy load and a computer, try different settings and see what happens. The programming cable must be ordered separately, the software is available online. You can use Chirp (latest version supports this model) but then you can only program your memory channels and some smaller basic things. Using proprietary software simplifies access to all system settings and advanced channel settings, giving you 100% control (chirp only gives you 50%). The good thing is that when you get an Anytones programming cable, all you have to do is plug it in (Win10), no drivers to fiddle with! When it comes to the radio itself, the station delivers its advertised performance. at 14.3V, a little less but still within error at 13.0V, and has a nice clear sound. The compander gives your microphone just that little bit it needs to suppress background noise in the car. Receiver is great! Picking up weak signals clearly isn't a problem, and it handles strong stations on nearby frequencies very well. And for me being able to detach my head from the radio was a must, I like that it uses a standard CAT5 cable (I use a CAT7 cable for outdoor use as it's subject to more wear and tear in a car than itself indoors with precautions). .) The splitter kit from Anytones didn't trigger any positive emotions in me and seems rather weak. and kind. I got a split kit from Powerverks for their dual band radio, it's metal and looks more durable, although you have to cut a new wire slot it's still a lot cheaper than Anytones. Yes, I will buy this radio again if the need arises.
