Review on Polar Grit Pro Multisport Wrist Based by Agata Kowalik ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

I often see comments about weak backlighting. In addition to various sports watches, I did not wear other smarts, maybe they have some kind of particularly bright screen, and so, the backlight and screen clarity of the polar, in my opinion, will be better than many others from the same category and purpose, or at least on the same level. The backlight is adjustable, it works automatically when the position of the hand changes, which is very convenient in the dark, when it turns on by itself and you do not need to press the buttons. The accuracy of gps, like that of all similar sports brands, did not notice anything special either as a plus or a minus. There are no rattles like games in the watch, who even guessed to shove such things into sports gadgets? They do not pay by the clock, there are no cards, there is no downloading music directly to the watch, as on some similar gadgets, which can sometimes be useful, although it eats up the battery, but the price is lower than that of competitors with such functions. In general, I would rate them at 4.5, there is something to strive for, just as competitors do not have an ideal, everywhere there are pluses and minuses, but there is no such rating here, so I will round up to 5 :)

Pros
  • Great sports gadget! It was made by athletes for athletes with an understanding of the nuances, but there are also flaws. Below I will tell you about my "pain" :) 1. The watch looks very good. 2. A very long-lasting battery, 40 hours with gps with a one-second ate and grater guidance - this is all close to reality, enough for 99.99% of starts. 3. Excellent as a built-in heart rate monitor, and chest. 4. Tests, training programs that you can either use ready-made or compose yourself. 5. A bunch of sports profiles, and not this miserable one, like some people have other winter sports instead of skis. How do you like it: roller skating or roller skating with wheels in a row, or orienteering skiing? 6. Relatively normal web interface with season planner. Mobile interface for four. The best web, in my opinion, was at suunto movescount, which they killed for some reason. 7. Step-by-step track guidance if you download it via Komoot. This is very convenient when the gadget notifies you in advance about turns. The notification comes to the current screen, there is no need to go into the screen with the track. 8. Compared to the regular version, sapphire glass has been added, several additional screens when there is no activity, such as sunsets / sunrises and altitude / compass, an altitude profile on the route, route scaling - which, to my surprise, was not in grit x. The clock was positioned for the outdoors, how can this not be the default? 9. Polar finishes the firmware and fixes the jambs, trackback appeared, which, surprisingly, was not on the grit x before, music control appeared.
Cons
  • 1. If the start and finish are in the same place, and you have track guidance running, then it may happen that after the start you immediately finish. The biggest flaw of this watch could be to make a logical protection so that the finish does not work a minute after the start. Previously, it was necessary to restart the activity, now only to restart the tracking on the track, although this has been corrected. There is a function to start the track from the beginning of the route, but there is a nuance that if the organizers set the starting point of the route 30 meters from the starting point, then in order to start guiding along the track, you first need to get to this point. In general, as long as you're lucky, you may have to restart guidance on it on the route. 2. There can be a maximum of 4 fields in training, sometimes I would like 5. 3. It is sometimes inconvenient to read notifications that come from a mobile phone, if you didn’t read it right away, then you need to pull it out with a touchscreen that works every other time, it would be better if this function was activated with a button. Synchronization and notifications work fine, here they write about such jambs without apparently understanding it. 4. Since there is no map in the watch, it would be great if you could put waypoints in it. 5. When the screen is locked during training, the screen is completely blocked, you can not scroll between other screens while protecting the watch from accidental pressing and stopping during activity recording. For example, when using sticks, you can accidentally press a button and stop the activity, there is a lock for this, and so, in order to go to another screen, for example, from a pulse to a track, you will have to unlock the watch. These are all nuances that most buyers will never get to, but athletes use it and I can compare it with the convenience on other similar gadgets.
