The spout was not protected from dirt and something was dangling inside.
The filter came with an exposed spout and a torn plastic wrap that did not protect the filter. I'm not sure if the filter is sanitary now. When I received it I also heard a lot of loose carbon and probably the filter spool hitting the inside walls of the cartridge. The unused H-300 cartridge I have makes no noise and seems solid.
