These are great shoes to take anywhere, in my favorite color and pattern. My foot size 8 is perfect for her size 8 - shoes with a wide sole protect the foot from accidents. I wore my last pair while waiting for my favorite model to go on sale and it happened. I walked many kilometers in these shoes. My dog and I walk at least 3-5 miles a day and often more and these are my summer shoes so they hold up well and stay beautiful throughout the life of the shoe as the fabric doesn't fade or wear out. The extra wide toe box means toes are generally protected from accidental bumps and abrasions. The straps take a few times to soften, but then they get so comfortable you might forget you're wearing them. In comparison I have bought several Chaco ZX1's and found Tevas much more comfortable than the Chacos straps although I wear them and have had them for over a year now. I usually find the most comfortable shoes from Tevas (love their sandals and boots), Keens and Merrells. They don't do well in the water as the sole catches the water and pulls the foot backwards. But they're great for clipping to the side of a beach bag or backpack when you're in the water.
