I got this camera, set it up, the picture quality is excellent - with the right lighting. Night vision is terrible. When I first got this, as the sun came up and entered my room or set and the lighting in my room changed, I got about 50 motion detection notifications, which looked like the camera was trying to figure out if it needed to be in the Go night vision or not - and night vision looks mostly on a black screen - at least for me.1. The ONLY way to record a video is let's assume you actually catch someone in your room (why I figured this out as I live in a community) then you have to go into the app and hit the record button click, sit and wait for the desired activity to stop, then press the record button again to stop recording. Now, a few issues with that: A: You have to rely on this camera's "motion detection" feature to get notifications to know, "K, there's something going on, I should open the app and watch live." THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE ACTIVITY YOU DESIRE - again, you have to toggle recording on and off. Unless you literally sit in the app all day every day if you aren't somewhere that you have a camera as there is NO way to record without being in the app. If you press record, the recording will stop when you receive a call. If you sign in to another app while that app is still open in the background, the recording will stop. So either you sit all day watching your live video on the app and literally use your phone for nothing else, or you rely on motion detection and then go into the app and manually press record when you see, that something is happening AFTER receiving a motion detection notification. B: Motion Detection - I figured it out, I get notifications when I'm not connected to Wi-Fi. So again, when I'm driving or at the grocery store, etc., I either just don't get what I want and hope nothing happens in the meantime, or I have the app open all the time, so long since I'm not online am. Wi-Fi, press record and don't exit the app at all.2. When you record a video, it's presumably (according to the company) saved on your phone in your camera roll. When I recorded something for the test, the video in my camera roll was a white blank screen, so you have to hope that the video that was captured and saved IN THE APP is fine and stays there3. motion detection. Again, I got so many notifications (I'll add again when I'm connected to WiFi) that I had to sit down and watch the video to make sure there wasn't any activity I wanted to record. It looked like the camera was turning night vision on and off. It happened in the morning when the sun came up when the light in my room changed, and when the sun went down when the light in my room changed. It was essentially huge flashes of light followed by what appeared to be the camera reloading for Video4. One last thing - if you're returning this and decide to buy another camera - disclaimer - don't think these are the same. Video/audio recording from a security camera with mobile app” – so don't buy this camera thinking it's better or has better features. Literally the same box, same camera, same app, same instruction manual, etc. So if you literally have nothing to do all day every day, if you've left the area where you've hidden your camera, which obviously isn't the case ; why you should shoot a hidden camera and walk away - DO DEALS! - and you can watch the live stream continuously without closing the app in ANY way - be sure to get this camera because then I will say the picture is clear etc etc etc. Waste of time and money.
