Review on πŸ”‹ QUICKLYNKS BM2 Auto Battery Monitor - Bluetooth 4.0 12V Car Battery Tester by Mike Rubenstein

Very good Rev A - Room for improvement

Works reliably and the phone downloads history on every connection. The first area for improvement is range. This uses Class 2 instead of Class 1, so the spacing is reduced. And because it's attached directly to the battery posts, it partially blocks the signal. I can still read the battery charge from about 20 feet away by pressing the phone against the inside of the window. The alerts are useless as I can only determine approximate percentages of what he thinks is still loaded. I want the alarms to be based on tenths of a volt. And since I almost have to hang my phone out the window to read the voltage, the alarms don't go in. Bluetooth pairing is pretty weird. I tried to pair with the Android BT screen but it said it couldn't pair. The description was a series of hexadecimal digits, not a name. However, the app has its own pairing screen. The good news is that once I'm in range, it quickly reconnects to download the story. It would be nice to have a longer range WiFi version that can connect to my home router when I'm close to home and have better control. about alarms - however, for the price, this gadget is really useful for keeping an eye on battery issues in winter.
