Tired of constantly looking for working 15kHz monitors for my retro gear, in 20+ years old monitors are getting harder and harder to service. I gave up and ordered this OSSC and I love it. It instantly synced my 1040 over VGA and after fine tuning the low to medium resolution picture is perfect. It also supports high definition, as long as you have the right cable, and it looks good. There's a learning curve, you'll have to read the manual and go through the wiki pages, but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. At 1040 I had to put LINEMULT at #5 and everything was perfect. This is with an LG 4K monitor. Yes you can buy them cheaper elsewhere but I've read good things about Kaico and their return policy, fast shipping and their guarantee, well worth the few extra bucks. All in all a fantastic product and a great relief from having to rely on age old monitor technology. One final note: this device supports more modes and resolutions at 1040 than I've ever seen before, as many splash screens that used to be mysteriously dark on older monitors now appear always and perfectly. If you're a retro enthusiast with ST I highly recommend the OSSC and maybe pair it with an STVGA2 adapter you can find online.
