Works great - audio and video accessories

There are no issues with the quality of the converter itself since it is only a 5V 1.5A round plug. The battery compartment of the remote control was too narrow and the batteries were quite difficult to remove, just remove your fingers. will use the device with all component video cables. So far I've only tested with PS2, but it was mostly plug and play, the video came out immediately after selecting YpbPr on the remote, and adjusting the image to my liking was easy enough. I assume the SNES…

Works perfectly! Top quality

Start by directing me here from MLiG as they said Voultar reviewed the Kaico unit and reported build quality and component testing. I was originally going to order the OSSC from the better known and advertised Goto site, but not only was it cheaper, it was readily available. Feature: If you're reading this, you probably already know what this device is. does and why you study it. So far I've only tried the SCART input and various settings and so far so good. The device works great as expected…

Expensive, small gain vs RGB/SCART alone

I have found that simply upgrading the console cable to RGB or SCART gives a 90% picture improvement while OSSC might give another 10%. The remote control on this thing is a complete joke, the controls are very complicated. The biggest problem is that there are NO fasteners on the SCART connector! The only thing holding it to the board are the solder points and it wobbles a lot. It's only a matter of time before he gets this damaged. After that, buy a SCART cable and a SCART to HDMI converter…

Works great with my Atari 1040st!

Tired of constantly looking for working 15kHz monitors for my retro gear, in 20+ years old monitors are getting harder and harder to service. I gave up and ordered this OSSC and I love it. It instantly synced my 1040 over VGA and after fine tuning the low to medium resolution picture is perfect. It also supports high definition, as long as you have the right cable, and it looks good. There's a learning curve, you'll have to read the manual and go through the wiki pages, but it's pretty easy…

Works with most analog resolutions

This little guy is awesome but a little fiddly so prepare to tweak the settings if you plan to use VGA and even late 80's SVGA to convert. I mainly use this to capture the DOS era and even some games from the late 90's. It currently offers resolutions of 320x240, 400p, 480p, 520p, 800x600 and 1024x768. Due to the wide standards, they are sometimes difficult to convert to a digital format, especially 320x200. The OSSC delivered every time, and even if it didn't sync right away, I was able to…

Cons
  • Not sure

I don't have an "authentic" OSSC to compare to but researching the Kaico Edition it seems to me that it's just as good as that normal OSSC. . More importantly, I was able to actually buy it and felt comfortable on Revain! OSSC is not a plug and play solution. Each console differs in what cables it needs and what settings it needs to use. Luckily, the interface is intuitive and the instructions that came with it were a decent start. After weeks of playing around with different consoles I can…

  • Very expensive

I don't think there is a better solution at the time of writing this article. However, buyers should note that not all TVs are compatible with HDMI input. (But there is a pseudo workaround by buying additional hardware -) I've used it with the Atari ST so far. Plan to use it later with other classic cars. With ST, it works well in low and medium color resolution display. I tested an Atari RGB to SCART cable connected to a SCART input (V1) and an Atari RGB to VGA straight cable (V3). SCART looks
