Review on Klock Werks Sport Flare For 1998-2013 Road Glide (8&#34 by Brian West

A good upgrade is good for bikers and lifters

Let's face it, no matter what you're doing, you'll always have bumps on the RoadGlide. Get a tall windshield, it helps, but the bike looks bad IMHO. Put on an 8" Harley shorty and you get a full blast, looks cool but utterly useless, you might as well throw away the stock radio because you won't hear it at freeway speeds. My height is 6ft 4in. and this 12" movement strikes me as the golden mean. Looks good, blocks most of the wind, wobbles a little but is very bearable. The wind blows so hard that if you ride with a cap instead of a helmet, it won't blow off your head. I just drove 2500 miles west and was more than happy with the performance of the windshield. My 2013 FLTRU came with a standard touring windshield which was too high, looked ugly and was very warm in hot weather. several days without a strong wind blowing in your face. I then switched to a 12 inch Harley wind splitter, which produced a lot of bumps and less than impressive power. I then bought 12" Klockwerks which will be my windshield of choice going forward.
