A working motherboard with speakers attached is a necessary tool for finding out what's wrong with a stubborn PC. However, the cables of this device are too short for permanent installation as you cannot hear the beep when you close your PC case. Look around and you might find the same product with 10" or 18" lines. With longer cables, you can attach the beeper behind the front grille of your computer case. I drilled a tiny (1/8 inch) hole on the front of my PC, took a piece of double sided foam tape, punched a hole in the tape with a single hole paper punch, and used the tape to install the horn. behind the presto hole! The beep is now clearly audible.
