Good Insurance for Oils and Fluids

If you have outdoor lamps that are causing corrosion or oxidation in the threaded area, you already know that at some point, all you have to do is remove part of the lamp and unscrew the metal part with pliers. The thread lubrication eliminates this problem and protects your fingers. I've used lamp grease for years - it's conductive so there's no heat build-up in the threaded area, but the grease keeps the lamp from freezing to the base so you can unscrew it if it burns out. I use it for outdoor spotlights, barn and garage lights, and even indoor ceiling fans. I've found that the vibration from the ceiling fan can sometimes cause the bulbs to stick, so I grease them as well. All you need is a drop of lube and then just apply. There's a reason it comes in such a small tube.
