I really wanted this lens, mainly because I chose mirrorless because of the size, among other things. And it goes so well with my a7c. I've had a Samyang 35mm f2.8 for a few months. It's small and compact but maybe too small and for some reason I can't explain I didn't really like the pictures. Maybe just not as much as I had hoped. So I decided to upgrade and of course spent 3x more money for something 0.23x better. Let's be honest for a second. Isn't that what photography usually does? Spring. I just took it out of the box, put it on my a7c and it looks beautiful. Yes the hood is a bit uncomfortable but that's to be expected, they wanted it to be compact so I agree. The membrane ring is massive. It doesn't move randomly. I was very concerned about this. It is very similar to my 20mm f1.8 but half the size. And it's not as small as I imagined, but still great. perfect size I only took a few pictures and they are amazing. I can definitely tell a difference with my Samyang. Auto focus is great. Man, I love Sony mirrorless cameras. I struggled for a month to decide whether to continue with this lens. I really wanted a 35mm (I'm trying to sell my Samyang right now). But I also have a 28mm f2, so I think I'm good between that lens and this one (40mm). I'm not a profi. Just a big hobby that I've invested way too much money into. So take that with caution, but I felt like there should be a Revain review just in case you can't find any of the 16 reviews online or the 16 reviews on YouTube. on this lens. In general, it's difficult to apologize when you have a favorite 35mm lens. For example Sigma f2 (ugh. I ended up going with this one and I hope I don't regret it) or Sony 1.8 or 1.4. I think if you really want something more compact than this. If you just don't have a 35mm lens then this might be a good alternative for you. (Again, if you really like the idea of a rugged compact lens). For reference, I can put my camera in my 5 liter designer bag along with my 28mmF2 and my Tamron 70-180. I always appreciate people providing this kind of information, so I hope someone else appreciates it. I can also easily turn on my 55mm Zeiss and 20mm f1.8 when I remove the Tamron. Just for your information. It is very convenient to have a compact package. I'm not saying all my packages are compact. But don't deny it either.
