As an added benefit, stranded cables are known to be more resistant to oxidation when properly soldered due to the individual coating of each conductor. I may have heard some differences, I can't pinpoint any particular one, and I couldn't point out exactly what was different, so my experience could be entirely psychosomatic. However, I was and still am interested in quality IEM cables, if only to suit my own preferences. The bottom line is that if you're interested in buying custom cables for your IEMs, you'll be paying more for the experience for your IEMs. This cable is an ohno Continuous Cast (OCC) Pure Silver Lite cable. It uses MMCX connectors to connect headphones and comes with 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn, 2.5mm balanced and 3.5mm unbalanced amplifier connectors. I bought the 4.4mm jack for use with some new Fiio products, in my case the Q5, and for future use with Sony portables like the NW-ZX300 and upcoming ZX500 DAPs. The cable uses a textile core in the conductors for a softer and more durable cable. It comes in a plain box with text and a window, and also includes a white Fiio-branded zip tie. The first product I received was defective with a completely wrong channel and correct connector, which actually broke one of my MMCXs. to MDR-EX1000 adapter. However, Revain was quick to send a replacement and the second works great. So far I've enjoyed it. Weaving is free, but this is not critical. The cable is very soft and flexible. It's pretty easy too. I've tested it with a couple of Campfire IO and Campfire Andromeda S cables, and while I don't hear any difference in sound compared to the SPC flex that comes with both cables, this cable is much more comfortable, smoother, and in my opinion . looks better than the standard memory wire flex cable that came with the old Andromeda and Andromeda S. While I personally like the ergonomics of Campfire Audio's new Smokey Litz cable, it doesn't look as pretty with the stainless steel body. Andro S likes this cable. Zeos once mentioned that he only sees the cables as decoration and as I'm not hearing any performance benefits I wouldn't recommend this cable to anyone with MMCX headphones. However, if you are looking for higher quality IEM cables and have looked for Litz custom cable solutions from Null-Audio or elsewhere, I can recommend this as a cheaper, higher quality alternative to similar products. . I'm happy with my purchase so far, apart from the initial problem with a broken cable. I'm not deducting a star for that though, as using the second cable was a real pleasure.
