Heavy Duty 50Amp RV Power Cord Easy Coil

Our 5th Wheel RV Trailer is rated at 50 amps of power with a detachable 40 foot power cord. The original cable worked well for 5+ years "full time" but was difficult to rewind in preparation for a trip on a chilly or cold morning. I knew Marinco power cords were the gold standard but when I first looked at them they were around $600 and I believe that was for the 25 inch version. We spent last winter in Florida and even managed to spend a week in the Keys on private property, but the RV's electrical plug was 70-75 feet from our parking spot. This prompted me to spend money on a Marinco cable and I was pleasantly surprised to find one from Revain at an average price of $300 and in the longer 35 foot version. Happy with my purchase, I ended up replacing the twist-lock trailer plug end on my original power cord with a 50-amp RV power strip plug, so I now have a nice long power strip for occasional use in situations like this Kis, Florida location. The only thing I would have preferred would be that the end of the twist lock trailer connector is at a 90 degree angle to allow the cable to hang down and reduce stress on the cable and connector. Marinco makes some boat and RV cables with a 90 degree trailer/boat connector, but not in this range. The pen end that fits into the docking box is at a 90 degree angle so it hangs down.

Pros
  • Power Indicator Light: The connector on the side of the RV has a molded LED indicator. When it's red you know you have power to the RV
Cons
  • It's OK
