I have searched for a long time and in my whole life I could not find a wall perch for my birds. I stumbled across this as it seemed like it would be enough because of the locked perch which I could turn upside down to put a perch under my spoiled birds' favorite window where they like to hang out. Upon installation I found the board was too thin for my medium sized birds so I decided not to use it and just wanted to use it as a flat perch over their tree under a window. After hanging it I found that the side where the dowels were to be inserted is perfect for installing wooden poles or metal tassels that attach to the side of the cage as they have a hole perfectly aligned and flat are! For my feather babies this was a good buy. Also, they're all wood so they stick to the surface better and I don't have to worry about them ruining some of the laminate that I have to replace after steam cleaning. I will be ordering more to set up around my house so my feather babies have multiple perches in each room. I will say that the installation part was pretty easy until it was time to insert the boards after installing the brackets. You have to work with it for a while and adjust the angles because it doesn't slide smoothly. I know I've read other reviews about the brackets not aligning with pre-drilled holes in the boards and while mine weren't exactly perfect, a bit of maneuvering with a bit of tugging and tugging finally got them to fit.
