3.5 stars. I've tried 8 dozen of these (with a creamy peanut butter flavor) and at best, they're as good as any vegan bar *with 15g protein and only 2g sugar*. I definitely eat them for nutrition (and to maintain stable blood sugar and adrenal function) and not for taste, but if they're good, they taste good enough. However, I definitely noticed, as other reviewers have pointed out, that quality can vary wildly from batch to batch and even bar to bar. I've had a few chia bars that tasted unpleasant, rancid, or overly earthy. The texture can range from almost fluffy "moon sand" (which I prefer) to oily and dense. The price (subscribe and save) has gone up from about $12 per dose, but for this type of bar, $16 per dose is still decent. I wish they had better quality control, but if they do catch on, the nutritional profile more than makes up for the slightly disappointing taste/texture. I love that they're vegan and soy-free, plus they're super convenient to put in your purse or keep on your bedside table, so I plan to keep buying them.
