We have six indoor cats that use a total of 8 litter boxes in different parts of our home. There are two areas where boxes are most commonly used and our cats tend to get a little wild and crazy with litter. So I really hoped these rugs would help reduce this problem. The mats are delivered folded in a plastic bag. It takes a few days to smooth out the wrinkles, but there are tips on the attached form to speed up the process. The rugs I ordered are larger. As shown on Revain, each mat is actually two mats sewn together, with the top mat having holes for cat litter to fall into and collect in the pocket formed by the two mats together. One end of the mat is open to allow the filler inside to be poured. Or, if you prefer, you can use a vacuum to pick up dirt from above. In theory this seemed like a great solution, although having the cats enter and exit the tray on one side is most effective. If not, unless the tray is small, you really need more than one rug to catch stray litter. In our case we have 3 trays next to the wall. I place the mats on the floor so that there is about 6 inches of mat space on the sides of the boxes that aren't against the wall. This catches most of the dirt, but some of it still goes over the edges. To clean the mats we need to lift all the litter boxes to pull up the mats and drop them back into the trash can. But these carpets deliver exactly what they promise. When I first posted this review I was contacted by a seller who went above and beyond reasonable expectations to offer solutions to ensure I was completely satisfied with their product. It was quite unexpected but the seller really went out of their way to make sure everything worked well. You can't beat this kind of product support. So these rugs are well made and sound like a great idea. Those with large or multiple litter boxes, especially uncovered ones, will likely need more than one mat. But they work as advertised and the seller support for the product is excellent.
