Decent Auto Start - Homeowner Clutch Pump

I was looking for a pump that would start automatically when it collects rainwater and pumps the water to another location through a garden hose. I wanted the pump to stop when the water ran out. This pump does it. The instructions are useless. They are clearly (poorly) translated from another language. I have attached an instruction image. After reading reviews, researching pump specs, and searching company websites (nothing of value or help online) I took the risk of buying because: it's through Revain, I wanted a solid pump body (stainless steel vs plastic), auto start, auto stop . high GPM, and the pump can handle more than just water (I might have dirt or plant debris). I live in San Diego and it's rainy season. I wanted a pump to divert rainwater from my neighbor's yard to a collection pond. (In the near future I will be styling my rainwater harvesting with irrigation tanks.) The pump comes with a plastic elbow for connecting to hoses or pipes. It didn't work for my garden hose so I bought adapters from my local garden supply store. I tested the pump in a fountain to understand how the automatic start and stop works. It took me about an hour to fiddle with the pump to make sure it would start automatically when the rainwater rises and stop automatically when the rain stopped. If you don't mind playing around with this pump to find out for yourself then I think it's a solid pump. If you expect good directions or help, stay away. I've had my pump installed for over a week and it seems to be doing what it's supposed to. I plan to ignore it, let it do its job and test it after heavy rains.
