I bought this mic based on reviews that said the on/off switch does exactly that - turn the mic on or off . Unfortunately, this does not mean that the microphone STAYS on. It is only active for the time the button is pressed. This means that every time I press the button, the microphone is recognized as a USB device and as soon as I release the button, it disappears from my devices. Essentially useless - none of my programs recognize the microphone unless I hold the button down the whole time I'm using my computer.
