Tested on a night when it was raining. We took the top off the jeep and put the lid on. The next morning there was a lot of water on the tarpaulin. There was a small leak that made the back of the passenger seat slightly damp (just a small drip on the back) but the other seats were dry to the bone and there was no water on the floor. We also have a mesh bikini top to support the weight of the water that collects on the tarpaulin. I'm not sure I would recommend using this. If you know it's going to rain heavily, it might be better to make sure you're wearing your original top. However, it will save you $$ when the weather sneaks up on you! I don't know how the tarpaulin could withstand the weight of the water without the support of the bikini top. The strings snapped slightly, I brought a lighter to the ends and it helped. Convenient driver's side zip for easy access when you need to get into the car without removing the cover. I will buy the same case again when it wears out.
