The material is hard and a bit brittle. Not sure about its content. However, be careful during the installation process. The front-opening cover slides open easily so that it can be removed. This greatly simplifies installation as you only need to line up the back to the wall and then identify the four mounting holes. Unless the entire drawing surface is made of wood. I would suggest using plastic wall anchors like Toggle. Think of the abuse you may have seen dealing with this type of dispenser, maybe those colleges or your favorite gin mill bathroom, probably some pulling, twisting or whatever, just fix it hard the first time and it should serve you well. Still debating, but I'll probably bring it back for a truly commercial model. Mine will be in my barn bathroom, mounted on ceramic tile. Strong enough. Much luck.
