Aqua Clear 70. Aqua Clear filters are good when they work. Beware of those with fine sand, make sure the motor is off when changing the water as the sand will get into the motor housing and impeller magnet. I've been through 2 of these in the last 6 months. The first time, the impeller itself made a very loud vibration noise, and it turned out that the sand damaged the rotating impeller magnet and generated friction noise. So I replaced the impeller but when I put the motor housing back on I didn't align the threads perfectly and bent the threads the wrong way. I'm not strong enough to make it look cheap, but that's my fault I didn't sort the threads. yes, this time I bought a new motor and impeller. barely 2 months later the second impeller just stops spinning completely so i take the case off and try to clean the impeller and it broke when i pulled it out tried another impeller and the noise got even louder so I said it goes away and put mine on old aqueon before 30, it doesn't filter that well but is much more reliable and quieter. I love Fluval Aquaclear filters but this time I'm going to try Marineland 400.
