I recently bought this for my Syrian Hamster so he (Hercules) can have a great habitat. The small habitats that the big retailers sell aren't really suitable for hamsters unless you buy additional rails and accessories, which can get expensive. Many people mistake hamsters for climbing metal bars in their small cages and find it cute and funny. and/or the hamster is having fun but your hamster is actually bored and stressed. They really need a large environment with lots of activities to keep them entertained and in this habitat you can add plenty of bedding for your hamster to burrow in. In the wild, hamsters are used to having many different hiding places to separate bathrooms, eating, sleeping, etc. Finally, you should change their hiding spots, tunnels, etc. at least once a month. And if you're using this spot as your main habitat, you won't have to clean his bedding on a weekly basis. And one more thing, I recommend bathing your hamster in a sand bath; he/she will love it.
