Review on Durable Aluminum Alloy 1x3 Digital Optical Audio Splitter with Optical Cable - Supports Dolby Digital & DTS 5.1, PCM Stereo, LPCM by Mike Goodwin

I bought this to split the optical audio signal from my TV into a soundbar and AV receiver. I first tried one of the passive optical splitters also found at Revain, but the light loss with them was too high and I had dips on the AV receiver connected with a 10 foot cable. This device is powered by a USB power cord. It comes with a power adapter that plugs into the wall, but I used the USB port on the TV to power the unit. It receives an optical data stream and transmits it to 3 separate outputs, eliminating the loss of a passive splitter. The body is metal and looks good. I used velcro to attach it to the back of the TV. The device does what it is supposed to and works well.
