Reliable, Expensive - Material Handling Products

I hesitated to buy because there is another seller who sells a similar collapsible hand truck (with the same carrying capacity) for 40% less but advertises it as made in China. I don't know what this device isn't, but I went with it because the vendor claimed to be based in the US. That doesn't mean, of course, that their goods aren't produced abroad. Apple does this, but their hardware seems pretty reliable. Everything depends on quality control. We have purchased other quality goods made in China (e.g. Duluth clothing online which is consistently durable and very well made). Wesco 275# folding truck arrived today. Shipping was quick and after inspection the unit seems reasonably reliable. The packaging was inadequate and unprofessional. I've read complaints in some reviews about the 7" folding bikes not staying perpendicular to the frame when deployed. I haven't found this to be the case, even with no load on the platter, so until you take the time to rotate that platter fully 90 degrees and spread the wheels apart with your foot. Never rely solely on the plate to turn the wheels fully into place. Once these precautions were taken, the handcart did an excellent job with the added bonus of giving the operator 7 inch wheels. They are also slightly further apart, which contributes to stability on slightly uneven ground. This device is sturdy but modest enough to be taken on a public bus. Do not use it to move refrigerators and freezers. Not until it breaks. I bought it for marriage with a plastic lucerne dairy box to carry a tripod, video gear and musical instruments (saxophone). Public buses are ideal for this. I think the seller is overpriced for products made in China. But maybe it's made in the USA, I'm not sure.
