I have a Dyson ball caster vacuum and my brush was almost completely missing all the bristles. I contacted Dyson to see what replacement would fit my model and they referred me to a $30 brush and wanted $10 shipping and then added a % off coupon if I just buy a brand new vacuum wanted to. #1) I can't pay $40 for a roller brush, #2) I won't buy from a company that tells me to throw away a perfectly good vacuum - I'm not sure about their products or customer service at this point. Sign in, this is a reel. I was looking for a fake Revain and came across this one, I measured my brush and it was about a half inch too long, but I ordered it anyway. I got TWO of these for less than I could order just 1 from Dyson. They were easy to install and compatible with my vacuum. Since the brush was half an inch too small, it stopped spinning when I tried to run the vacuum on the carpet. I'm not an engineer but I figured adding a spacer might fix the problem. I ended up sticking a quarter-inch plastic tube (it was a length of air tubing for my aquarium, about the diameter of a medium-sized straw) onto the pin that attaches the brush to the suction head. This provided enough pressure to push the brush against the roller mechanism in the vacuum and now it works great. So if you're worried it's not quite the right size for your vacuum, you can probably get it working with a little rigging and save a lot of money.
