Summary - circulates air under the laptop. It's not air conditioned so certainly doesn't blow cold air, but the fans circulate enough to bring the temp down a bit. I believe that plus the lack of a laptop on a flat, hard surface can only be an advantage. Plus nice lights. The support team really tried to keep you happy and were very responsive. The unit I received first appears to have been returned. The lights didn't work and the USB cable and baffle were missing. I emailed the seller and he immediately offered to either refund the purchase price or send a replacement. I have decided on a replacement. Only 2 days later I received their "replacement". He had a different brand, there was not even a backlight and power supply - in general, a different model. So I emailed customer service again. Just two days later I received a replacement delivery. Success. It was the right working model. Therefore, despite the fact that there were errors, I give the customer a thumbs up. Very quick replies and they got it right in the end. Bottom line I would recommend if you are aware of the limitations. I am happy and use it with all my laptops.
